Meghan Markle Says She Has Not ‘Scraped the Surface’ on Publicly Discussing Her Suicidal Thoughts

Meghan Markle said that there is still more to discuss when opening up to the media about her struggles with suicide.

Markle first spoke publicly about her suicidal thoughts in a 2021 sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, admitting to the talk show host that she felt “ashamed” when first discussing it with her husband and family. Though it remains a sensitive topic for the Duchess of Sussex, she hopes her words can support those fighting with suicidal thoughts and encourage them to seek help. “If me voicing what I have overcome will save someone, or encourage someone in their life to really genuinely check in on them, and not assume that the appearance is good so everything is ok, then that’s worth it,” Markle added.
