Meghan Markle may get to promote her new series from the Oscars red carpet

Meghan's lifestyle and cookery show, set to launch on Netflix from Tuesday, was delayed due to the LA wildfires as sources say she would 'make waves' if she attended tonight's Oscars.

The film Emilia Perez – about a sex change Mexican cartel boss – leads the field with 13 nominations and had been expected to sweep the board until its transgender star Karla Sofia Gascon was found to have posted racist comments on social media. Anora, a film about a stripper who marries a Russian oligarch’s son, is favourite to land Best Picture, although Conclave, about the process to pick a new pope, is in the running. Brits up for Oscars include Ralph Fiennes for Conclave, Cynthia Erivo for Wicked, Felicity Jones for The Brutalist and Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl – tipped to win Best Animated Feature.
