Although tour dates have not been announced, Megan has been confirmed for appearances in May at the Boston Calling and Bottlerock Napa Valley music festivals, and in June at Bonnaroo in Tennessee. The tour announcement follows a rough few years in which Megan largely avoided the spotlight and the music industry: In 2020, she was shot in the foot by Canadian rapper Tory Lanez, who was sentenced last August to a 10-year prison sentence. Last week, Megan released the single “Hiss” from the upcoming album, which includes the line, “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law.” The lyric was widely interpreted as a reference to Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender due to his 1995 conviction on the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl.
