As Call the Midwife returns to our screens this Christmas with a special festive edition of the hit period drama, it’s safe to say that viewers at home will once again be treated to a rollercoaster of emotions as the staff at Nonnatus House help bring a few new little ones into the world. The talented star has been happily married to Swedish hotelier Johan Tham for over 30 years, with the couple reportedly first meeting while he was running the Cliveden Hotel in Buckinghamshire. On the show, Fred was able to find romance with shopkeeper turned councillor Violet Gee, and it seems Cliff had just as much luck off screen too, when he fell for BBC producer Tara Wyer.
