Mediterrane Film Fest Names Ray Calleja & Mark Adams As 2025 Director & Curator
Set for June 21-29 in Malta, the 2025 Mediterrane Film Festival has named Ray Calleja and Mark Adams its festival president and curator.
Calleja has solidified his place as a Maltese film and TV star over the past 45 years, having previously directed such cultural events as Malta’s Presidency of the Council of the EU cultural programme in 2017 and serving as the artistic director for the 2022 Malta Special Olympics Invitational Games. Marking 100 years of film in Malta and how the medium has shaped the island nation’s cultural identity and creative legacy, the 3rd annual Mediterrane Film Festival features a lineup of screenings, panels and events that will immerse audiences in the “magic of storytelling.” Reflecting the festival’s view of cinema as “a cultural connector and creative force,” this year’s theme is ‘We Are Film’, “celebrating the transformative power of film as a universal art form that brings people together through stories, emotions, and shared experiences.”
