Maya Rudolph To Play Kamala Harris On ‘Saturday Night Live’ Through 2024 Presidential Election
Rudolph's 'Loot' will push back production to January to accommodate her playing the Vice President.
EXCLUSIVE: “Mamala” is getting back to work, as Maya Rudolph will reprise her Emmy-winning role as Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday Night Live this fall as the NBC late-night comedy program covers the final stretch of the 2024 Presidential campaign. Rudolph’s impersonation of Harris has been so popular, the moment she emerged as the presumptive Democratic Presidential Nominee after President Joe Biden dropped out on July 21, fans had been urging her to clear her schedule for an SNL return. SNL previously employed a similar stunt-casting strategy in the lead-up to the 2020 Presidential election with Jim Carrey and Rudolph playing Joe Biden and Harris from the start of the TV season in early October through December.
