Maury Povich opens up about being 'dead broke' in his 40s before earning fame on 'A Current Affair,' sharing details about his journey to success

The longtime Maury host, 84, regularly doled out DNA tests to unsuspecting fathers on his eponymous talk show, which ended in September 2022 after 31 seasons. Povich noted that A Current Affair went on to be “the biggest show for the next five years in syndicated television.” But despite his career success, he says he was “almost 50 before I made any money, any scratch,” which sparked concern from his parents.
