Matty Healy Says Writing About 'Casual' Romances Is 'For Other Artists'
The 1975's Matty Healy explained why he won't be writing new music about his 'casual romantic liaisons' after dating Taylor Swift
Healy poked fun at Ice Spice, with the podcast’s hosts mocking Chinese and Hawaiian accents, and referenced the porn website “Ghetto Gaggers,” which features the degradation of women of color. When The Tortured Poets Department dropped in April, listeners were surprised by the focus on Healy instead of Alwyn, 33, on songs like “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” “Fresh Out the Slammer” and the album’s title track. Healy acknowledged in Tuesday’s interview that he “became a way more well-known public figure for loads of different reasons,” but he doesn’t anticipate going on a huge promotional tour whenever the band’s next record is ready.
