DC Studios head James Gunn may have moved on from the actor, but Matthew Vaughn said he'd bring Henry Cavill back as Superman for a Red Son movie.

“I thought Red Son was one of the cleverest comics I’d ever read, and [with] the current world we’re living in, it’s certainly become a lot more relevant because ignorance causes more issues, and I think the more we learn about Russia and the Russian history,” Vaughn told Bro Bible. In the past, Cavill has also expressed his interest in pursuing Elseworlds tales on the big screen, particularly Superman: Red Son. “I think what’s important now is to tell a story which is dedicated to sharing the same character in the comic books in the cinematic universe, and then after that’s been established, then we can start exploring some more of the offbeat stuff.”
