Matthew Perry Allegedly Lied About Being Sober for Years Before His Death

Several sources claim in a new report that Matthew Perry ‘crafted and manipulated’ the talk about his sobriety in his memoir that was published before his death.

One of the sources further alleged that Matthew was even lying about his sobriety to his former Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc, who all mourned his death on social media in November. Drowning, coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine, which is a drug used to treat opioid use, were also listed as contributing factors in his passing by TMZ. The 17 Again star was open about his struggles with alcohol and pills over the years, though he was reportedly “clean” for 19 months at the time of his death.
