Matthew Lillard In Talks To Join ‘Carrie’ Amazon Series
The 'Carrie' TV series' at Amazon MGM Studios has Matthew Lillard in talks for a role, sources tell Deadline.
The project reunites him with Mike Flanagan ( The Fall of the House of Usher, Midnight Mass), his director on another King adaptation, The Life of Chuck, which won the coveted People’s Choice Award at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival, and is slated for release via Neon on June 6. Lillard is the third actor to come aboard following relative newcomer Summer H. Howell, who plays the title character, and Siena Agudong, who will portray her nemesis, Sue Snell. Hailing from writer, executive producer and showrunner Flanagan, who will also direct select episodes, the show reimagines the story of Carrie White, a a shy, bullied teenage girl who discovers she has telekinetic powers, while contending with abuse at school and at home, under the scrutiny of her fanatically religious mother.
