Former congressman Matt Gaetz responds to former classmate and 'Reacher' star Alan Ritchson calling him a 'motherf---er' and 'adversary': 'He's just trying to get Hollywood attention.'

Ritchson, though born in North Dakota, grew up in Florida — but he made it clear in his conversation with GQ that he wanted no association with Gaetz, one of the state's most prominent politicians. Gaetz served as the U.S. representative for Florida's 1st congressional district from 2017 until late 2024, vacating the position after the Trump administration nominated him for U.S. attorney general. The committee determined that Gaetz violated a long list of House rules and other standards of conduct, citing prostitution, statutory rape, illicit drug use, special favors or privileges, and obstruction of Congress.
