Filmed across several surviving Jacobean-ear locations in the UK, the seven-part series stars Julianne Moore, Nicholas Galitzine and Tony Curran, as well as many other famous faces. Nicola Walker transforms into Lady Hatton with Trine Dyrholm playing Queen Anne and Sean Gilder in the role of Sir Thomas Compton. Niamh Algar plays a character titled Sanide, while Adrian Rawlins takes on the role of Sir Edward Coke.
