Marvel Animation Premieres First Episode of ‘Eyes of Wakanda’ at France’s Annecy Animation Festival
From 'Black Panther' helmer Ryan Coogler’s Proximity Media Banner, ‘Eyes of Wakanda’ was teased by director Harris at an Annecy panel.
Director Todd Harris introduced the episode, titled “Into the Lion’s Den,” ahead of a Q&A session. The episode, the first of four in the series, is set in 1260 B.C., and follows a Wakandan secret agent, a disgraced former Dora Milaje named Noni (played by Winnie Harlow), as she pursues a man by the moniker of ‘Lion’ (Cress Williams). Each of the 30-minute episode, produced by the studio Axis Animation, will take place across different time periods spanning centuries, following different artefacts taken, in what director Todd Harris calls an “anthology adjacent” format.
