Martin Short “Wasn’t Even Watching” SAG Awards For His Surprise Win But Jokes, “I Guess I’m Beloved”

The 'Only Murders in the Building' star, who missed the awards show due to COVID, took home wins for best actor in a comedy series and best comedy ensemble.

“The publicist sends you things, ‘SAG Predictions,’ and it was always like, ‘Well if it isn’t Jeremy Allen White, I’ll tell you it will be Jason Segel.’ It was not even close.” On a more serious note he added, “It would have been thrilling to be there but I do find that stuff [stressful] of you have to get up and did you forget a name and then if you pull out a piece of paper you’re a wimp and you don’t have any soul,” joking, “I saw Timothée Chalamet just speak. She later hand-delivered Short and Steve Martin’s trophies to set as the group worked on filming season five.
