Marks and Spencer makes major decision over school uniforms


The popular store has pledged to keep the price of its school uniform range at the same price for the fifth year in a row - and it's all for a very important reason

School uniforms are at the centre of a retail price war every year with firms like Tesco and the budget chains Aldi and Lidl vying to offer the cheapest deals. Among the innovations are adjustable waistbands, growth-proof hems, permanent pleats and “easy to iron” fabrics — features the firm claims make life easier for parents as well as children. Our Plan for Change is removing barriers to opportunity, with limits on branded items of school uniform just one of the steps we’re taking to put money back into parents’ pockets and break the link between background and success.”
