Marilyn Manson’s U.K. Tour Opener Show Canceled Amid Protests From Officials and Online

Marilyn Manson’s U.K. tour opener, which was scheduled for October, has been canceled following a protest online and from a Member of Parliament.

After a four-year investigation, Los Angeles prosecutors dropped the case against him in January, citing that they determined the domestic abuse allegations against him fell outside of the statute of limitations, and that the sexual assault charges could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Earlier this month, Green Party MP Siân Berry wrote an open letter to Bella Sankey, the leader of Brighton and Hove city council, which pressed for the cancellation of Manson’s show. The letter was co-signed by members of Green Group of Councillors in Brighton and Hove, Survivors Network, University of Sussex Students’ Union, and others.
