Margaret Qualley pulls out of playing Amanda Knox in major new TV series about Meredith Kercher's murder and her wrongful conviction

Margaret Qualley has backed out of a new Hulu series in which she was to play Amanda Knox.

The Poor Things actress, 29, was attached to the project back in March as both its lead and executive producer, but Deadline reported on Tuesday that she has pulled out due to 'scheduling conflicts.' Monica was portrayed by actress Beanie Feldstein, and the show was run by Ryan Murphy- the mastermind behind other popular series like Glee and American Horror Story. As a result the Italian Supreme Court ordered a retrial for the slander conviction in October and last Wednesday the trial started but without Knox, who has remained in her native Seattle.
