Maren Morris wholeheartedly supports Beyonce's shift into country music: 'It's such a statement'
Maren Morris couldn't help but sing Beyoncé' praises following the news that she is releasing a country album, called Act II.
Morris, who has been outspoken about the sometimes'toxic' culture of the subgenre in the past, expressed excitement for Beyoncé's upcoming Renaissance part ii album in general.' 'I was listening to 16 Carriages this morning, and just marveling at the production and the lyrics and the vulnerability,' Morris added about the second new Beyoncé single, which was released in tandem with Texas Hold 'Em on Super Bowl Sunday. The singer-songwriter faced harsh criticism from Azealia Banks less than 24 hours after her announcement, with the rapper branding her foray into the country music scene 'narcissistic.'
