Maren Morris Wrote Wild Robot Songs for Her 4-Year-Old Son: He's Watched the Trailer 'Probably 80 Times' (Exclusive)
Maren Morris is a mom to son Hayes Andrew, 4, whom she shares with ex-husband Ryan Hurd. The singer chatted with PEOPLE at the Toronto International Film Festival about writing music for the movie 'The Wild Robot.'
"But no, he's so proud because he's putting connections together that like I'm singing in it," she shared, adding, "I definitely wrote these two songs for the soundtrack, like with him in mind as his mother." The Wild Robot is an "epic adventure" directed by Chris Sanders that "follows the journey of a robot — ROZZUM unit 7134, 'Roz' for short — that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling." Being on the road for her RSVP Redux tour only made their mother-son bond stronger, Morris explained.
