Manu Chao to Release First Album in 17 Years, ‘Viva Tu’

Manu Chao will release his first album in 17 years, 'Viva Tu,' on Sept. 20.

The song is said to be a “brotherly tribute to all of the couriers in São Paulo risking their everyday lives as they ride their two-wheelers across the huge metropolis,” per a press release. Chao’s last full-length release came seven years ago with “La Radiolina.” However, he hardly remained inactive in that period, collaborating on projects with Bomba Estéreo, Rumbakana, Charlart58, Carlangas, Dani Lança and Calypso Rose, among others.
