A BBC newsreader was left red-faced after a technical mishap live on air caught her chatting and checking her phone during what she presumed was an ad break. Oblivious to being live, Annita McVeigh thought it wasn't showtime during the midday news segment on Monday, September 9. Following a one-year hiatus triggered by internal shuffling at the BBC, McVeigh toasted her return to the screen this March.
