While performing at TD Garden in Boston, Maggie Rogers paused the concert to remember Liam Payne, the former One Direction member who died at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel room in Argentina on Wednesday. Rogers addressed the crowd on Thursday while sitting at the piano and said, “This week, in particular, I’ve been thinking how precious life is and how quickly things can change.” The singer shared how a childhood friend broke the news that Payne had died. The prosecutor’s office in Argentina reported the cause of Payne’s death, stating that the singer died of multiple traumas, internal and external bleeding, and a cranial injury from the tragic fall.
