Madlib Loses Home, Extensive Music Collection In Los Angeles Wildfire

The producer asks for financial assistance in rebuilding after the destruction of his home.

“We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support in helping legendary producer Madlib and his family rebuild after losing their home, decades of music, and equipment in the devastating LA fires,” the Instagram caption reads. Sharing the news was Madlib’s “Piñata” collaborator Freddie Gibbs, Flying Lotus, DJ Premier, and his former label, Stones Throw Records. Since last Tuesday, January 7, the wildfires, started by the Santa Ana winds, have killed at least 24 individuals, with destruction sites spanning Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
