Macy Gray was over the moon on Friday as she celebrated becoming a grandmother after her oldest daughter Aanisah Hinds gave birth to a baby boy.
The sweet moment seemed to signal an easing of tensions between Macy and her daughter after Aanisah accused her brother Tracy Melvin Hinds of hitting their mother, though the singer denied that her son had assaulted her. A birth seven weeks before the due date is considered moderately preterm, and babies born that early tend to be smaller than usual and can have initial difficulties with breathing and eating, according to the Mayo Clinic. Her family conflicts came to light back in February of this year, when Aanisah filed a request for a restraining order in Los Angeles against Macy's son Tracy Melvin Hinds, 28.
