M88 Signs ‘Rains Over Babel’ Filmmaker Gala Del Sol
Gala Del Sol, the filmmaker behind the Sundance-premiering 'Rains Over Babel,' has signed with M88.
Reimagining Dante’s “Inferno” through a queer, tropical-punk lens, the film is set in the mythical City of Maya, a retrofuturistic version of Cali, Colombia, and centers around Babel, a legendary dive bar that serves as a purgatorial meeting point for lost souls. Presiding over this enigmatic establishment is La Flaca, the city’s Grim Reaper, who challenges patrons to gamble years of their lives in hopes of altering their destinies. Founded in 2020 by former WME partner Phillip Sun and Macro founder and CEO Charles D. King, M88 reps storytellers, actors, writers and multi-hyphenates, with an emphasis on diverse talent.
