Lynx Coach Cheryl Reeve Says WNBA Title Was ‘Stolen’ by Poor Officiating

Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve was irate following her team’s loss to the New York Liberty in Game 5 of the WNBA Finals, saying the title was ‘stolen’ by poor officiating

In particular, Reeve was upset with a call in the waning seconds of regulation when Lynx center Alanna Smith was whistled for a foul on Liberty star Breanna Stewart. It took a year, but the New York Liberty finally got the last laugh on Kelsey Plum and the Las Vegas Aces. After the Aces defeated the Liberty in the 2023 WNBA Finals last October, Plum, 30, courted controversy with her postgame comments about the New York squad.
