Lyn Lear Writing Book on Norman Lear’s Philosophy and Sayings as She Reflects on Her Late Husband’s Legacy (EXCLUSIVE)
In her first interview since Norman Lear's passing, his wife Lyn reveals that she's compiling his most memorable quotes and philosophy for a book.
That includes the Sentinel Awards, an annual event that recognizes programs that feature meaningful storylines on critical topics. Laraine Newman, one of the original “Saturday Night Live” cast members, will host this year’s ceremony, which takes place on Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills. ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” is set to be honored for its entire body of work while other shows to be recognized include Apple TV+’s “The Morning Show,” for its discussion on abortion, NBC’s “Lopez vs. Lopez” for tackling addiction, Fox’s “The Simpsons” for looking at wealth disparity, Max’s “Hacks” for touching on the climate crisis, AMC’s “Dark Winds” for its story focus on racism in healthcare, ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” on taking on the dangers of smoking and vaping, and more.
