Lulu shares 'real reason' she's quitting music after 60 years
Lulu's rise to fame began with her debut hit Shout in 1964, with the singer going on to have an impressive 60 year career that will culminate with her final tour in April
Speaking candidly to Gyles Brandreth on his Rosebud podcast, Lulu, 75, revealed the news, expressing: "This is actually - I’m announcing it for the first time now - this is my farewell tour, with family and friends." Additionally, she lent her vocals to the title track of the 1974 James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun and clinched victory in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1969 with her unforgettable anthem Boom Bang-a-Bang. Determined to tackle the issue head-on, Lulu revamped her diet, bidding farewell to indulgences like ice cream and butter-laden sandwiches, and embraced cholesterol-lowering foods to safeguard her health for the long haul.
