LuckyChap, Amblin, Bad Robot Join Initiative to Give Healthcare to Hollywood Producers
Major production companies including Amblin Entertainment and LuckyChap have joined the Producers Guild of America's new healthcare initiative.
Announced on the heels of the Produced By Conference, an annual event held by the PGA, the newcomers join shops like Blumhouse, Legendary, MACRO and Berlanti Productions — who previously promised to add budget line items on shows and movies that will fund these producer benefits for the first time. The guild has suggested a starting rate of $3.33 per producer, per hour, be included in budgets and spent on a variety of plan options. Internally championed by PGA member Harvey Wilson and shepherded by past leaders Gail Berman and Lucy Fisher, the benefits do have criteria for participants.
