Lucca Comics Chief on Why the Medieval Town Named a Street After ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ Co-Creators Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson
Lucca Comics & Games, which is held annually within the medieval ramparts of the Tuscan town, has expanded to become the largest geek meet in Europe.
Tolkien in the 70th anniversary of “The Lord of the Rings” and also two other great “Butterfly Effects.” First of all that of “Dungeons & Dragons,” which we are celebrating with the biggest exhibition ever dedicated to the D&D world. The curators are two very authoritative Americans, Jon Peterson and Jessica Lee Patterson, and it will feature materials provided by Matthew Koder, who is one of the biggest D&D collectors worldwide. In what I think is a first, we are naming a street [underneath the city’s ramparts] after D&D co-creators Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson, so that it, in a way, will become a real medieval Dungeon!
