Luca Guadagnino To Direct New ‘American Psycho’ Movie At Lionsgate With Scott Z. Burns Set To Adapt

Luca Guadagnino is in final negotiations to direct a new 'American Psycho' movie. Scott Z. Burns will adapt the novel for the Lionsgate movie.

The novel by Ellis was a groundbreaking and controversial work when it was published in 1991, not only for its iconic Manhattan investment banker turned serial killer but also for its incredible attention to detail for the world it was entering, as well as the graphic violence its main character delivered, leading to it being censored in several countries. The property is something the studio has been trying to crack for some time, and following recent meetings with Guadagnino execs felt he was the perfect choice to bring a fresh take. Burns is represented by UTA, Range Media Partners, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner Auerbach Hynick Jaime LeVine Sample & Klein.
