She explained her inspiration for writing the book at Harvey Nichols Edinburgh Step into Christmas event: "It was about addressing the struggles in my life - from the hard times, racist comments as a kid, and being overweight and feeling isolated made me become my own best friend. I kept looking in the mirror and thinking 'I can be my best friend', and I hope this book reaches someone going through something similar and show they can recover from it." Ekin-Su opened up about her book during her trip to Scotland at Mar HallAnd speaking of recovering from hard times, Ekin-Su saw herself at the centre of backlash during her stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house earlier this year - but she's ready to leave that all in the past and focus on a positive future.
