Love Island star posts 'major development' in Jay Slater case - and asks cutting 6-word question
TV star Sam Gowland has not been short of views in the case of missing teenager Jay Slater, posting several developments on his social media accounts. Now, he's used his profile to share what he called a "major development" - and called for British police to be sent to Tenerife to pick up the investigation - asking: "What on earth is going on?" Frustrated at the lack of progress in the manhunt, 28-year-old Sam fumed: "I just don't understand why it's been two weeks now and there's not been any significant breakthrough." The star, who commands a million-strong fanbase thanks to his time on Love Island and Geordie Shore, added: "Why have they not sent the British police over seeing as everyone involved in the case is British?" He also referred to a distressing video that has been doing the rounds of a boy being beaten up that some have claimed was Jay - though the theory has widely been debunked as the clip was first been posted on social media nearly a decade ago.

His phone last 'pinged' a receiver from the Parque Rural de Teno nature reserve, where Spanish police were focusing their search before officially calling off the hunt on Sunday.
