Los Angeles County Health Dept. Shuts Down All Local Beaches


Don't go near the water, says the L.A. Dept. of Health, which has shut down local beaches.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has issued an ocean water use warning through April 3 at 8 a.m. Recent rain, which causes more bacteria and debris from nearby streets and mountain areas to flow into the ocean and contaminate waters, particularly around storm drains, creeks, and rivers. Several beaches, including Santa Monica Pier, were already under a high bacteria warning earlier this week.
