Los Ángeles Azules, Draco Rosa, Albita & More Honored at Latin Grammys 2024 Special Awards: Highlights
The Latin Grammys festivities kicked off with its 2024 Special Awards gala in Miami, celebrating Los Ángeles Azules, Draco Rosa, and more honorees.
Trustees honorees were prolific hitmakers Ángel “Cucco” Peña and Chucho Rincón; while Albita, Alejandro Lerner, Draco Rosa, Lolita Flores, Los Ángeles Azules and Lulu Santos were honored with this year’s Lifetime Achievement titles. Credited for discovering Joan Sebastian and helming some of Vicente Fernandez’s biggest hits, Rincón, 87, highlighted how a career in music “changes lives, creates magic, and has made me feel loved and special,” he stated. The artist and guitarist born Luiz Maurício Pragana dos Santos is the founder of progressive rock band Vímana, and has carved a path in Brazilian music for the past five decades.
