Lori and George Schappell, World’s Oldest Conjoined Twins, Dead at 62


Lori and George Schappell, conjoined twins born in 1961, died on April 7 at the age of 62

They also held the title of oldest identical female conjoined twins before 2007, when George came out as transgender. Oliver was traveling home from a Caribbean vacation with his two daughters — Madita and Annik, whom he shared with wife Jessica Klepser — on January 4. The twins grew up in West Reading, Pennsylvania before graduating from the Hiram G. Andrew’s Center, according to their obituaries.
