Loose Women 'axing vital part of show' amid budget cuts

Loose Women will reportedly be scrapping its live studio audience when the ITV show returns with a reduced schedule next year amid budget cuts

This follows ITV's announcement of major budget reductions to their daytime line-up, from trimming Lorraine to 30 minutes and only airing the show during school term times, to cutting back Loose Women's run to 30 weeks a year. Sources told MailOnline that key Loose Women talent are 'upset' about the loss of the live studio audience, as it's what distinguishes the show from Lorraine and Good Morning Britain and there are concerns that viewers may 'switch off' completely, reports the Mirror. As part of the shake-up, Good Morning Britain will gain an extra 30 minutes, starting from January, while Lorraine Kelly's programme will be condensed to a 30-minute slot for 30 weeks a year, according to ITV's earlier announcement.
