Lizzy Caplan was locked to co-star, with Tatum sharing directorial duties with longtime partner Reid Carolin…only for the project to get axed very soon after. While Lizzy Caplan couldn’t break any NDAs about the movie, she did reveal that the goal was to make a “screwball romantic comedy” with Channing Tatum, suggesting a far-lighter tone than something like the Deadpool films. Though given how popular the character has become following Channing Tatum’s portrayal in Deadpool and Wolverine and X-Men ’97, it’s possible that Lizzy Caplan gets called back to the world of capes and spandex!
