Lizzy Caplan On Scrapped Gambit Film Starring Channing Tatum: “They Wanted To Do A ’30s Kind Of Screwball Romantic Comedy”

Lizzy Caplan is sharing details on what the scrapped Gambit movie would've been like.

In 2017, Deadline reported that Caplan was in talks to co-star alongsideChanning Tatum in a standalone film based on X-Men’s Gambit. Based on the comic book character Chris Claremont and Jim Lee created in 1990, Gambit made his first appearance in live-action form in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine with Taylor Kitsch in the role. The film was axed following the merger of Disney and Fox in 2019, but Tatum was finally able to play Gambit in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine.
