The singer announced plans for a gap year in August but has since clarified that she has still been chipping away at new music and her shapewear brand Lizzo on her music career, the future of her popular shapewear brand, YITTY at the Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit 2024 at Ritz Carlton on October 14, 2024 in Laguna Niguel, California. In the midst of a flurry of allegations surrounding sexual harassment and hostile workplace claims, she posted on Instagram saying: “I Quit.” Shortly after, she clarified that she meant she was quitting “giving any negative energy attention.”
