Lil Wayne Officially Announces ‘Tha Carter VI’ Release Date
Lil Wayne has officially announced the release date for his upcoming album 'Tha Carter VI.'
Though it was unclear if that meant the album would officially arrive this summer, his label Republic Records and Young Money later confirmed that Wayne is gearing up to drop the next installment of his iconic “Carter” series in a few months. Social media quickly pointed out that Wayne should have gotten booked for the slot in his native New Orleans, which he pokes fun at in the commercial that touts the tagline “we’re all a lil sensitive.” He teamed up with 2 Chainz in Nov. 2023 for the collaborative album “Welcome 2 Collegrove,” and over the past few years popped up on various singles from Tyler, The Creator, Tyga and Nicki Minaj.
