‘ on Friday, a theme song for the upcoming Netflix sequel Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, which premieres Wednesday on the streaming platform. Murphy reprises his role as Detroit-born cop Axel Foley in the upcoming Netflix sequel after starring in the first three films, which premiered in 1984, 1987 and 1994. The newest installment sees Murphy’s eponymous character team up with his new partner Detective Bobby Abbott (Gordon-Levitt) after his estranged daughter, criminal defense attorney Jane Saunders’ (Paige) life is threatened.
