Lil Durk’s Family Says They ‘Refuse to Stay Silent’ While His Lyrics Are Used In Indictment
In a statement, the family said that Black artists are “criminalized for their creativity.”
Months before the trial begins on October 14, 2025, the family released a statement on Instagram, slamming the lyrics’ usage in court. The alleged orchestrated hit, speculated to be in retaliation for the 2020 murder of King Von, resulted in Rondo’s cousin, Saviay'a Robinson, being slain in Los Angeles in 2022. A bond hearing for Lil Durk is scheduled for May, in which the Chicago native will learn whether he can be released from jail before the trial.
