Liam Payne's dad told in-person of investigation results after three charged over death
Three people have been charged in connection with the death of One Direction singer Liam Payne, the public prosecutor's office in Argentina said on Thursday night (7 November)
The grief-stricken father, devoted to his son who first captured hearts on X Factor, had rushed to Argentina immediately after the news broke out and stayed there until he could bring Liam's body home to the UK on Wednesday (6 November). They shared in a detailed statement: "Based on the evidence gathered and after analysing the various bodies of proceedings and numerous documentary annexes and the background of the case, prosecutor Andres Esteban Madrea formally charged three people, requesting their questioning and arrest in a 180-page ruling presented last Friday to Judge Bruniard." Liam had previously opened up about his struggles with alcoholism at the height of his fame, describing hitting "rock bottom" in a candid chat with The Diary Of A CEO podcast host Steven Bartlett.
