The Buenos Aires hotel where One Direction alum Liam Payne died has become a gathering spot for fans, who spoke with Us Weekly about their grief
In an impromptu vigil, fans lit candles, sang One Direction songs and cried as police continued their investigation into the 31-year-old singer’s unexpected death. Payne rose to fame as a member of British boy band One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik. Zaira Bravo, who lives in Peru but visiting Argentina as a tourist, knew beforehand that Payne was in town and even came to the hotel to meet him earlier in the week.
