Lena Dunham is 'protective' of her friendship with Taylor Swift and says the Karma singer is 'everything that you would want her to be'
Lena Dunham and Taylor Swift go way back and she does not take their friendship for granted.
The Girls star, 38, has been a part of the singer's, 34, 'squad' for over a decade and has had an inside look at the scrutiny Taylor's faced - both personally and professionally - since she was a teenager. Emily in Paris star Lily Collins, 35, had been signed to portray the title character, based on the popular 1980s toy, when the project was announced in 2021. Dunham explained it was fellow writer and director Greta Gerwig's success with the blockbuster Barbie that fueled her decision to step away.
