Legendary TV and radio announcer who was the voice of Perfect Match and The Norman Gunston Show dead at 87
Legendary Australian TV and radio announcer Max Rowley died over the weekend aged 87.
His iconic voice would be instantly recognisable to many Australians as the announcer for memorable programs including The Norman Gunston Show, Perfect Match and Name That Tune. He was so renowned in the industry that in the 1960s he established The Max Rowley Academy in Sydney, which taught budding VO artists and radio stars the ropes. Jonesy added that Rowley was integral for training a whole generation of Australian radio hosts - including Cameron Daddo and Rob Duckworth - and thanked him for his incredible contributions to the industry.
