When Anna and Colin bought the zoo every aspect of it was rundown and hazardous, from the dangerous rides to the inadequate facilities for the animals. They closed it to the public and spent seven months on a complete renovation, with Anna pouring a further £1 million of her money into new enclosures and other work.
