Legendary 90s guitarist QUITS band after 30 years due to 'medical developments' with heartbreaking statement


Guitarist Chris Burney has announced his departure from Bowling For Soup after 30 years.

But after seven months of playing as a trio while the guitarist focused on his health, the group announced on Thursday that he has officially retired for good. 'It is with a heavy heart we announce that Chris Burney has made the decision to retire from his stage-right post in the band he co-founded in 1994. Their fifth LP ‘A Hangover You Don’t Deserve’ was released on September 14, 2004 and its lead single ‘1985’ landed the Number Five spot on the US Billboard’s Adult Top 40 chart.
